Redirect A Web Page

As I go along with running and improving my web sites there are always new things to learn. Most recently I had need to redirect a web page to a new location. So, I went looking for a simple solution and, like the "bookmark" solution I posted previously, I again found a simple javascript that will do the job. You can view it HERE

I just found (via Robin Good's SITE ) what looks like a pretty cool free service for creating buttons for your web site. It's called Buttonator and I think it could prove quite useful and, at the very least, time-saving. Certainly it will be easier than fooling with Photoshop to get the same result.

Bookmark This Site

I recently added a feature to one of my sites that allows the user to simpley click a link and bookmark the site. This may be elementary to some, but it was new to me. I found a simple javascript method HERE and it took a couple of minutes to implement. It was designed to work with IE, but when I tested with Firefox I found it worked with that as well. I still need to add it to my other site.

Visual Studio

I've downloaded MS Visual Studio Express to play around with and possibly use on some web site ideas.

Hello and Welcome! First an introduction. I currently run 2 genealogy and history sites Mid-Atlantic Archives and Quaker Records . When I began this endeavor I had a copy of Dreamweaver MX and a few books explaining how it worked. The sites may not be beautiful or professional looking, but the users seem to like them. It's really more the content anyway. This blog will not be about genealogy, but rather about all aspects of web design and the trials and tribulations of putting together and running your own web site.
